Facilitator, Jean Campbell
|
|
Jean Campbell is CEO and Director of
The iMAGE Project, a Virginia nonprofit organization.
Following eight years of training and certification in
Bioenergetic therapy techniques, she developed DreamWork/BodyWork
as a therapeutic model which allows dreams and personal
imagery to form the foundation for healing. In 2006 Campbell,
and the World Dreams Peace Bridge which she founded, received
a grant from Carlos Santana's Milagro Foundation, to create a
dream-based program for children suffering the trauma of war
in Iraq. She has conducted DreamWork/BodyWork workshops in
Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Most recently,
DreamWork/BodyWork has been introduced as one of the
modalities taught through Heal Trauma Fast!, a training
program for counselors, therapists, and others working to heal
Post Traumatic Stress. Author of two books on dreams, Campbell
is past President and a Board member of the International
Association for the Study of Dreams.

The Workshop
|
|
DreamWork/BodyWork
is a process-oriented therapeutic model. Workshop
participants will experience work with their own dreams and
images as well as exploring the steps involved in facilitating
this process with clients and others.
Friday 1-6 pm Saturday 10am-6pm (lunch break 1-2pm;
6-8pm dinner roundtable/optional) Sunday 10am-2pm
Who Should Attend This Workshop?
Psychotherapists, social workers, and
practitioners who work with body-related therapies understand
that all people experience trauma. For those in the healing
professions, DreamWork/BodyWork demonstrates a model for
empowering the client, while simultaneously providing tools
for understanding both the trauma and its resolution.
All professionals who work with trauma can benefit from
this workshop.
Learning Objectives
* To recognize in the body what might be called
the initial trauma in someone's life and how that affects
responses to subsequent trauma * To experience how the
body holds and records information and how that information
can be accessed * To see how dreams and personal imagery
contain the information necessary to allow healing * To
learn something about the process of healing trauma, even
"forgotten" trauma
What to Bring
Bring your dreams. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting
clothes. Feel free to bring a pillow or mat for sitting and
working on, snacks, water, and a notebook or recording device
(cell phones allowed only if they are very, very quiet).

The
iMAGE Project celebrates the magic in every human
being. Believing that the purpose of life is endless, joyful
creativity, our research and education projects work to
understand the nature of human consciousness and the extent of
human potential. Most people believe in endless potential,
many things happen in life to take us away from our dreams or
endanger our self image. The work of The iMAGE Project is to
reintroduce us to the I-Mage, and to help that Mage grow into
its full potential. |
